Animation Essentials - with Feedback!

In this animation course, I share with you some essential tips to get a solid base for hand-drawn animation. Those foundational skills are fundamental for all animators whether you do 2D animation, cut-out or even 3D animation. If you are starting in animation, these exercises are a must in order to get the core concepts of animation. For your feedback, you will have a choice between "Recorded Feedback" and "Live Q&A Feedback".

📦 Content

• A five-part tutorial with 11 videos and 5 assignments 📺📝
  • Part 1 - Pendulum: Learn about timing, easing, arcs and inbetweens.
  • Part 2 - Bouncing ball: Learn about “squash and stretch”, and further look into arcs and easing.
  • Part 3 - Hammer: Learn more specifically about breakdowns, anticipation and reaction.
  • Part 4 - Flour sack: Apply what we have learned to a more complex character, and also look into a basic run and jump.
  • Part 5 - Character: Animate head turn to focus on human character and a simple movement. Animate a “character take” to explore a classic type of character animation. Animate a breakdown to further look into making a character's animation more interesting.

• A total of five feedback sessions of 20 minutes max each. ⏳
• Live sessions will also be recorded and available for download. ⬇️
• You are free to animate your own character design.

📅 Schedule

You can watch the videos and do the assignments in your own time. Then, when you're ready you can send over your work to me.

• If you booked a recorded feedback, I will aim to send a video within 48 hours. 🕒
• If you booked a live Q&A feedback, then you will be able to book a session at your convenience with a link that I will provide. 📅

🖥️ Equipment

You can use any app you want for the assignments, but the demonstrations will be done in Photoshop.

You'll need to export either GIF, MP4, or MOV files for review, but I can also open the following files: Photoshop, Krita, Clip Studio or Toon Boom.

🎓 Who is this for? 

This class is suitable for beginners or intermediate artists who have prior knowledge of some animation software. You are free to use your favourite app to follow this course.
